There are two ways to start the wizard:
- Double-click on the Internet icon on your desktop.
- Go to the Start button. Choose Programs, Accessories,
Communications and then click Internet Connection Wizard.
If neither of these options work for you, give
Sentex a call, otherwise continue. Microsoft changes this program
so your version may vary. All the information you need is here.
- Select "I want to set up my connection manually, or I
want to connect through a local area network (LAN)" and hit
the Next button.
- Select "I connect through a phone line and modem"
and hit the Next button.
- Internet Service Provider information. Type the local dial up number for your location and remove the check mark beside "Dial
using area code and country code" and hit the Next
button.
- Account logon information. Type in your Sentex user name and
password. Your user name will be idm/sentex/ and then the first part of your email
address. Example
would be the user name idm/sentex/johnsmith
and hit the Next button.
- Connection Name. Type "Sentex" and hit the Next button.
- Internet Mail. Select "Yes" and hit the Next
button.
- Display Name. Type your full name or the name that you want
others to see and hit the Next button. Example "John
Smith".
- E-mail Address. Type your email address here. Example johnsmith@sentex.ca ,/li>
- E-mail Server Names. The Incoming mail server type is a POP3 or IMAP.
The Incoming mail server name (POP3) is mail.sentex.ca and the
Outgoing mail server name (SMTP) is smtp.sentex.ca and hit the
Next button.
- Internet Mail Logon. Type your account name and password. Your
account name is the same as your user name. Example "johnsmith",
your password and hit the Next button.
- Completed Internet Connection Wizard. Once you see this screen
you hit the Finish button.
To sign on to Sentex try double-clicking on the Internet Explorer
(Browser) or Outlook Express (Email Program) on your desktop. The
Connect-To window should pop up. Hit the Connect button and the
modem should dial.
